Frequently Asked Questions

In our experience, the higher dental IQ a patient has, the healthier they usually are, which is why we’re always happy to answer questions. Below, you’ll find answers to some of the most common questions our team receives every day, but if you have others, be sure to give us a call any time!

How often should I go to the dentist?

This answer will be different for every patient, but for the average person, Dr. Asay recommends that they should attend at least two checkup and cleaning appointments each year (about one every six months). These allow him and our team to monitor a patient’s dental health so they can catch and treat small problems during their earliest stages.

Can I bring my child to Chisholm Trail Dental Health?

Yes! As a father of FIVE himself, Dr. Asay just loves helping growing smiles and putting them on the path to sustained dental health. Children of all ages are always welcome, so whether you have a toddler, teenager, or someone in between at home, you can trust that we’ll be able to provide exactly what they need.

I’m scared of the dentist…can anything help me?

At Chisholm Trail Dental Health, we’re able to calm nervous patients every day using sedation dentistry. This safe, effective, and proven approach can help even the most severe dental phobia seemingly disappear, making appointments a pleasant and relaxing experience for anyone. Here, you can get nitrous oxide, oral sedation, and even IV sedation all on-site. We’ll help you determine which approach is best based on your particular needs and situation.

I want to straighten my teeth, but can I get something other than metal braces?

Yes! Invisalign is an orthodontic treatment in which a patient only has to wear a series of clear and lightweight plastic aligners to correct their crooked and crowded teeth. They are so discreet-looking that no one will notice you’re using Invisalign unless you tell them, plus you can take the aligners off whenever you want for easy brushing and flossing! Can you help with a broken/knocked-out/painful tooth?

Yes! Patients in need of urgent care are always welcome here at Chisholm Trail Dental Health. Just give our office a call, and we’ll schedule an appointment as soon as possible--preferably the same day!

My teeth have multiple cosmetic flaws. What is the best way to take care of them all?

Porcelain veneers involve placing thin ceramic restorations over the front of the teeth, and they enable us to change the color, shape, and size of the entire smile with just one simple procedure. With them, annoying stains, chips, cracks, gaps, and even slightly crooked teeth can all be taken care of at the same time, saving a patient from having to get multiple treatments. Could they be exactly what your smile needs to truly shine? To learn more, contact us today.

Do you accept dental insurance?

Yes-- we are an in-network provider with Delta Dental Premier, and we also accept dental insurance plans from several local employers. You can view a complete list here.
